GCSE Results Day

This morning, Year 11 students at Derby Moor Spencer Academy returned to collect their long-awaited GCSE and BTEC results. There was some trepidation and excitement as students, families, and staff came together to celebrate another year of achievement. For many students, today marks the beginning of their next chapter, with most set to join our thriving Sixth Form this September. Others are embarking on new adventures at colleges, apprenticeships, or directly entering the workforce.

Vice Principal, Kerry Wiltshire, reflected on the day’s celebrations:  “Speaking on behalf of the staff,  we are genuinely proud of the efforts of this year group. They have shown character, commitment, and resilience towards their studies, and this has resulted in some highly commendable results. We have no doubt that each of you will flourish in the future. We will forever remember the Year 11 cohort of 2024!

Principal, Scott Doyle, shared his thoughts: “It has been a privilege to welcome our Year 11s back to the academy this morning and celebrate their well-deserved successes.  The results today are a testament to their hard work with many exceeding their own expectations. As they step forward into the next stage of their educational journey, I am confident that they will continue to achieve great things. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated staff, supportive families, and the entire Derby Moor community for playing an integral role in helping our students succeed.”

Sixth Form enrollment has now begun, with advisors available on site until 1pm today to assist students. External applicants are encouraged to visit the academy from 11am to confirm their place.
