Induction Days – Frequently Asked Questions
When is Induction Day?
- We have organised the Induction Days for Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th July 2026.
How should students travel to school?
- Students should travel to school as they intend to on any normal school day and parents should not enter the site
What time should students arrive?
- Students should arrive between 8.25am and 8.35am. Senior staff will be outside to greet all students
What should students wear?
- Their normal primary school uniform.
- They should bring their trainers with them.
- They should not be wearing casual clothes such as track-suits, jeans or hoodies
What should students bring?
Please could you ensure that they have a pencil case with the following equipment:
- Pens and pencils
- Ruler
- Eraser
What will students be doing during the day?
- During the day, students will be doing lots of activities in their forms, including sample lessons across a range of subjects.
What are the lunch arrangements?
- Lunch is available to those students that have credited their account via ParentPay – you will be sent an email shortly before transition explaining how to do this. Otherwise students should bring a packed lunch. If your child receives Free Meals at their current Primary School, they will be credited with £3.30. Please be aware that parents will need to reapply for Free School Meals when moving schools, it will not automatically carry over.

What time does the day end?
- The day ends at 3.05pm on Tuesday & Thursday, 2.45pm on the Wednesday. Please ensure that your child knows how they are getting home. No Parents should enter the site, please wait on pavement area in front of school
Biometrics
