At Derby Moor Spencer Academy, we want students to be as involved as possible with the decisions made that affect them. Therefore, the student Leadership Team consists of Student Principals in Year 13, Student Leaders in Year 12 & Year 13 and Form Reps in each year group 7-11. We aim to make sure that every form group is represented, and these groups meet frequently (each fortnight) to discuss current issues and decide on the direction they wish to go. Student Voice is lead by Year 13 Student Leadership team and are consulted by SLT on all major decisions to be made by the school.
From your Student Voice Leader, Year 13:
“ As the Student Voice Leader, my aim for the position is to ensure that every student at our school feels heard, valued, and empowered to contribute to school life. We are committed to creating open and respectful spaces where students from all year groups and backgrounds can share their ideas, raise concerns, and help shape the future of our school. Through regular feedback, student-led initiatives, and collaboration with staff, we want to make sure that Student Voice leads to real change — whether that’s improving the learning experience, enhancing wellbeing, or making our school community stronger and more inclusive for everyone.”
Below are some resources with top tips that we have made to help you through your time in lockdown and not being at school. There are a range of resources for all year groups so please take a look!
