A Level Results 2025

There was a buzz of excitement and pride this morning at Derby Moor as our Year 13 students returned to collect their Post-16 results. The celebratory atmosphere was well-earned, with students securing the results required to progress onto high-quality apprenticeships, employment or university.

Following on from stand out results last year, this year’s achievements are a testament to the hard work and resilience of our students. We are particularly proud of the fact that 5.2% of A-Level grades were an A*, with nearly a quarter (23%) of all grades being A* or A grades and 78% of grades at A*-C. Our vocational students also excelled, with strong results across the suite of subjects offered.

The early indications around progress made, known as ‘value-added,’ further highlights how successful our students are when compared to national data with both the vocational and academic suites showing positive scores overall.

Principal Scott Doyle said, “I am incredibly proud of this year’s cohort and the excellent results they have achieved. This success is a true reflection of their commitment to study and the unwavering support from our dedicated staff. I’m particularly pleased with the indicators around ‘value added’ as this shows how far our young people have developed since completing their GCSEs in Year 11. As they embark on their next adventure at universities, apprenticeships, and in the world of work, we wish them all the very best and look forward to hearing about their future successes. This group of students has consistently shown the attributes needed to thrive, and I am confident they are well-prepared for what lies ahead.

Head of Sixth Form, Verity Burn, added, “We are incredibly proud of all our students for their achievements this year. From the very start of Year 12, they have worked with dedication, focus, and resilience, and today’s results reflect the effort they have put in. This year’s cohort have truly embodied all the values of Derby Moor Academy. They have demonstrated achievement through their excellent results, community in the way they have supported and encouraged one another, and high expectations through their commitment to hard work and academic excellence. These results are not just a celebration of grades, but a recognition of the hard work, dedication and character our students have shown.”

We look forward to welcoming our former students back to Derby Moor Spencer Academy in the future as alumni, knowing they will inspire the next generation of learners.
