Year 11 Results Day 2025

This morning, the atmosphere at Derby Moor Spencer Academy was one of celebration as Year 11 students returned to collect their long-awaited GCSE and BTEC results. The hard work, resilience, and unwavering commitment of our students have been rewarded with a highly successful set of results, marking another positive year for our thriving school community.

We are particularly proud to announce that a significant number of our students have achieved the key national benchmarks, with 63% securing a Grade 4 or higher in both English and Maths and 47% achieving a strong pass of a Grade 5 or higher in both subjects.

These results are a testament not only to the students’ efforts but also to the tireless support of our dedicated staff and families. For many, today marks the beginning of their next chapter, with the majority of students set to join our successful Sixth Form this September. Others are embarking on exciting new adventures at colleges, apprenticeships, or directly entering the workforce.

Vice Principal, Kerry Wiltshire, reflected on the day’s celebrations: “Each grade represents a significant personal achievement, made possible through the dedication and encouragement of teachers, parents and our wider school community. Through the active engagement in lessons, through the completion of independent study tasks and through attendance at after school and holiday interventions, these students have taken every opportunity to succeed. I am incredibly proud of this year group and confident that they will continue to thrive. They will be forever remembered for their care for each other, for their conduct and for their commitment!

Principal, Scott Doyle, shared his thoughts: “It has been a privilege to welcome our Year 11s back to the academy this morning and celebrate their well-deserved successes. The results they have received today do not happen by chance. It is down to their hard work and the commitment of those around them to keep going, to ask for more and to dare to dream. As they step forward into the next stage of their educational journey, I am confident they will continue to achieve great things. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated staff, supportive families, and the entire Derby Moor community for playing an integral role in helping our students succeed.”

Sixth Form enrolment has now begun, with advisors available on site until 1pm today to assist students. External applicants are encouraged to visit the academy from 11am to confirm their place.
